About Sourdough Forge

Tools and guidance for more repeatable sourdough baking

Sourdough Forge publishes an iOS app and a focused website for bakers who want to track starters, plan bakes, use practical calculators, and learn from each loaf.

What Sourdough Forge makes

The Sourdough Forge app brings starter records, feeding reminders, recipe organization, bake planning, Home Screen widgets, observations, photos, and journal history into one workflow.

The website complements the app with free calculators, troubleshooting guides, app comparisons, and explanations of common sourdough decisions.

Why this site exists

Sourdough changes with temperature, flour, hydration, starter strength, and time. The goal of this site is to make those variables easier to observe and compare without pretending that one timetable works for every baker.

Useful pages should help a reader make a decision, run a better next experiment, or understand the limits of an estimate. When a calculator is heuristic, it should be treated as a starting point and checked against the dough or starter itself.

Who publishes the content

This website and its editorial content are published by Sourdough Forge, the maker of the Sourdough Forge app. Pages use the organization as the author unless a named contributor is clearly shown on the page.

We do not invent author identities or credentials. Our editorial policy explains how comparisons, sources, corrections, and AI-assisted work are handled.
